Panoptes is a high-performance, simple technology that monitors video streams in real time, alerting law enforcement and security personnel when events occur. IntuVision's Panoptes allows security personnel to focus on significant events that pose security threats, filtering out non-events and virtually eliminating false alarms. The technology, based on the human visual cognition system, uses "event spies" to track activities on two levels: space-based peripheral vision and object-based tunnel vision. While humans can allocate attention to only a small number of objects and events at once, the all-seeing Panoptes offers human-like, quick detection and unlimited focused attention on four core events: intrusion, direction, object count and stationary object. The user interface enables operators to quickly become proficient in setting and managing event spies and creating custom events.
